My Favorite Livonia Resources

Among the best resources available here in Livonia to help your child develop a genuine love of reading are the Livonia public libraries. All of our libraries have wonderful children's sections, as well as children's librarians to help your child find books that are just right for him. The Civic Center Library (which is the library that I visit most often) even has a "Reading Recovery" section with leveled books for first graders. Just ask the children's librarian at the desk to direct you to these wonderful books.

Parents and children can find almost any book available by visiting the Livonia Public Library Catalog website http://catalog.tln.lib.mi.us/ and searching for a book. If the book is not at the Livonia public library of your choice, you can request that it be sent from another Livonia library or a library in a different city that has the book. You will be notified by email when your book is available at the library of your choice for pick-up. This system is a very easy and convenient way for parents and children to get their hands on desired books!

If your child does not have a library card, please plan a trip to one of our Livonia public libraries, so that he can get this priceless card that opens up a world of available books for your child to read.
